| Sometimes it seems that Italy is ruled by strikes. There are even online sites that list planned strikes months in advance. On our thirteenth day, the bus and train operators of Italy were on strike. I didn’t think that it would be a big problem in Venice, but “buses” include all the water buses that run along the Grand Canal and out to the islands. We saw the Grand Canal with an extraordinarily low level of boat traffic. | A
volte sembra che l’Italia sia governata dagli scioperi. Ci sono anche i
siti online che elencano gli scioperi progettati con mesi di
anticipato. Nel nostro tredicesimo giorno, gli operatori di autobus e
treni di Italia erano in sciopero. Non pensavo che sarebbe un grande
problema a Venezia, ma «gli autobus» includono tutti i
vaporetti che passano lungo il Canale Grande e alle isole. Abbiamo
visto il Canale Grande con un livello straordinariamente basso di
traffico delle barche. |
