Michelangelo painted “The Last Judgement” from 1535 to 1541 for Pope Clement VII. He included a self-portrait of himself as an empty bag of skin. I think he felt ill-used by the Popes.

Michelangelo dipinse «Il Giudizio Universale» dal 1535 al 1541 per il Papa Clemente VII. Ha incluso un autoritratto di sé come una borsa di pelle vuota. Penso che lui abbia sentito che i Papi lo sfruttassero.
