Until 1869, art historians believed this “Annunciation” was painted by Ghirlandaio. It is now recognized as an early work by Leonardo da Vinci. He created it while he was still an apprentice in the workshop of Andrea del Verrocchio.

Fino al 1869, gli storici dell’arte hanno creduto che quest' «Annunciazione» fosse stata dipinta da Ghirlandaio. È adesso riconosciuta come una opera giovanile di Leonardo da Vinci. La creó quando ancora si trovava nell'ambito della bottega di Andrea del Verrocchio.
